Academic API Licence (v1.0)

Effective Date: 31 March 2026

1. Purpose of Access

This Academic API Licence (“Licence”) governs access to emissions data and related dataset content made available by Mycelium Network Ltd (“Mycelium”) via API, CSV, or other formats for academic, institutional, and non-profit research purposes.

By accessing or using the data, you (“the User”) agree to the terms of this Licence.

2. Permitted Use

2.1. Subject to this Licence, Mycelium grants the User a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the data solely for:

a. academic research and analysis;
b. modelling, statistical work, and related research activity;
c. publication in academic journals, reports, or other public-interest outputs.

2.2. Use under this Licence must be strictly non-commercial.

3. Attribution

3.1. All use of the data in publications, reports, presentations, or public outputs must include the following attribution:

“Data sourced from Mycelium Network (mycelium.global)”

3.2. The User must not imply endorsement by Mycelium without Mycelium’s prior written consent.

4. Restrictions on Use

4.1. The User must not:

a. use the data for commercial purposes;
b. integrate the data into commercial systems, services, or products;
c. resell, redistribute, sublicense, or otherwise make the data available to third parties except as necessary for the permitted research use within the User’s institution or project team;
d. misrepresent the source, accuracy, ownership, or status of the data.

5. Data Integrity

5.1. The User may transform, analyse, or derive outputs from the data, but must not present modified data as original Mycelium data.

5.2. Derived datasets, models, or outputs must not be attributed to Mycelium as original Mycelium data unless expressly agreed by Mycelium in writing.

6. User Responsibilities

6.1. The User is responsible for:

a. independently validating the data before use;
b. ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and research standards;
c. maintaining the confidentiality of API credentials where credentials are issued.

6.2. Any errors or inaccuracies identified in the data should be reported to Mycelium.

7. No Warranty

7.1. The data and API are provided “as is” and “as available”.

7.2. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mycelium makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mycelium shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with the use of, or inability to use, the data or API, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of business opportunity, or business interruption.

9. Term and Termination

9.1. This Licence takes effect on the date the User first accesses or uses the data.

9.2. Mycelium may suspend or terminate access immediately where the User breaches this Licence.

9.3. Upon termination, the User must immediately cease use of the data and delete any stored copies unless otherwise agreed by Mycelium in writing.

10. General

10.1. This Licence does not grant the User any ownership rights in the data, API, or any related intellectual property.

10.2. This Licence constitutes the entire agreement between Mycelium and the User in relation to academic access.

10.3. This Licence is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
