MCP
Plug AI assistants straight into live emissions data
We're building a Mycelium MCP server, an open standard connection that lets ChatGPT, Claude and other LLMs query our company carbon database directly, in the conversation, with no copy-paste.
01 | What is MCP
An open standard for AI tools and data
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets large language models talk to external tools and datasets in a structured, secure way.
Mycelium's MCP server will expose our open-access company emissions database as a first-class data source for AI assistants, so when you ask your model about a company's carbon footprint, it can answer with real, sourced figures instead of best guesses.
02 | Why It Matters
Real emissions data, in the tools you already use
- No more hallucinated numbers. Your assistant cites sourced, structured emissions data instead of guessing.
- Ask in plain English. Try "Compare Tesco and Sainsbury's Scope 1 emissions for the last reported year" and get a real answer.
- Skip the data wrangling. No CSV downloads, no PDF scraping. The model pulls structured figures directly.
- Drop into existing workflows. Works with any MCP-compatible client: Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, custom agents.
- Built on the same database. Same coverage, same Mycelium and Transparency Scores, same provenance you already trust through our API.
- An open data model. Figures come back in the Open Corporate Carbon Footprint Data Model, so every number is tagged as reported by the company or estimated, and the model knows the difference.
- Stay compliant. All access governed by the same licences as the rest of the Mycelium platform.
03 | Who It's For
From procurement chats to research agents
- Sustainability and procurement teams screening suppliers from inside their AI assistant.
- Carbon accountants drafting client reports with live company figures pulled into the conversation.
- Researchers and analysts running comparative studies without leaving their notebook environment.
- Software teams wiring Mycelium into custom AI agents and copilots without writing API client boilerplate.
